Surabaya Music Expo (SMEX) was held again at the Exhibition Hall Grand City Surabaya on August 3–6, 2023. Similar to the 2019 SMEX event, the area was divided into two: indoor and outdoor. The outdoor area was used for demoing the best line array sound systems from professional audio companies. The indoor area was for exhibiting speaker products, lighting, and musical instruments.
In the outdoor area, Rhyme showcased its latest speaker, the RM 226 LA, with 6 units. It was paired with 8 units of the RM 1283 LA subwoofer. The RM 226 LA was launched at this SMEX event; this line array speaker uses a 3-way system composed of 2 mid-woofer 12-inch speakers, 4 mid 5-inch speakers, and 2 compression drivers. The RM 1283 LA subwoofer is a double 18-inch using components from ACR FABULOUS 18in PA-127187 SW FAB. Besides listening to demos outdoors, visitors could enter the Exhibition Hall to see the exhibition. Here, visitors could try new and existing products, check sound, and consult about the professional audio world.
At the indoor booth, SBE displayed ACR, Rhyme, and SB Acoustic speakers. The booth featured an Indonesian theme with a cozy and relaxed atmosphere to provide a comfortable experience, allowing visitors to freely ask questions and try live demos of the speakers prepared by the team. Visitors who came to the booth showed great curiosity about Rhyme’s latest speakers and wanted to know which drivers were used during the demo. They also listened to the RM 1283 SB, RM 225 Mk5, RM 81 LA, and RM 151 FSB. These Rhyme speakers received positive responses from the visitors. In addition, ACR showcased the latest products from the Fabulous Series: 18in PA-113188 SW Fab with double magnets, and from the Deluxe Series: 18in 18710 DLX ACR Series.
Some visitors who had previously used ACR and Rhyme also gave their testimonials to Sinar Baja Electric, expressing hopes that the products would continue to develop and be able to compete with foreign products.
